IO/LED Setup

The Input Output Setup dialog is accessed through the IO/LED Setup Panel in the Devices Pane. Use I/O to configure TTL trigger settings to start or stop a sequence, capture an image, trigger a light source or events. An I/O device must be added and properly configured in the Profile.

Under Enable I/O during Capture, check Capture Trigger/Signal to setup capture triggers and output signals.

You may choose from a list of the installed pins by clicking in the cells under the pin heading. The signal level of the pin can be changed by clicking the cell under the State heading. Each click will toggle the state between High and Low.

For Capture Inputs:

• Sequence Start - TTL input to trigger the start of a capture event, click under Frequency to choose when to trigger. (Each click will cycle through the list of choices)
  • Each Field - Waits for an input trigger at the beginning of every capture cycle
  • First Field - Waits for an input trigger at the start of the sequence
  • Each Pass - Waits for an input trigger before the first field of each sequence pass
• Sequence Stop - TTL input to stop a time lapse image sequence.
• Scan Start - TTL input used by the Scheduler to trigger a scan; for more information see "Scheduler." (The Scheduler feature is not available in HCImage Live)

For Capture Outputs:

• Sequence On - Will set the chosen state of the pin at the beginning of the capture. This pin will remain at the specified state until the sequence has completed.
• Field On - Will set the chosen state of the pin at the start of a field's exposure. This pin will signal on and off as each field is captured.
• Scan Pulse On - TTL output used by the Scheduler; for more information see "Scheduler." (The Scheduler feature is not available in HCImage Live)
• Exposure On - TTL output for the duration of each exposure.

Under Enable I/O during Capture, check Event Marker to setup user-defined event inputs and outputs.

You can customize event names by clicking the Event number and pressing the F2 key.

As you capture a sequence, event markers will be added to your data document when input pins are signaled. If you manually add an Event marker, all appropriate output pins will be signaled.

Note: You may add or edit Event Markers after an experiment. Open the data document and select Field Data, right-click on the desired field for adding, editing or removing options.
