Analysis Panel

The Analysis Panel provides all of the required tools for collecting data from images and image sequences. There are several types of analysis to choose from and they vary based on the level of HCImage, as described below. Depending on which type of analysis is selected, the Analysis panel may display a different set of tools.

• Single Image Measure - measure area, length and intensity of multiple objects in a single image
• Sequence Intensity Analysis - measure the intensity of a single object through an image sequence
• Advanced Analysis - use a workfile (icon driven macro) to automate repetitive tasks
• FRET Analysis - select a FRET method and perform calculations on single images
• Batch FRET Analysis - select a FRET method and perform calculations on an image sequence

In addition to various types of analysis, HCImage provides a Simple and an Advanced analysis mode for defining objects of interest. The Simple mode provides a set of drawing tools to manually identify objects of interest and the Advanced mode provides a comprehensive set of image processing tools to help identify large numbers. The Simple mode is active by default but can be changed by clicking View on the menu bar, then highlighting Analysis Mode and selecting Advanced.

The diagram below provides a brief overview of the layout and available features in the Advanced mode.
